Okay, so sorry it’s been a little while but those of you that have done this before me, have reassured me that I’m normal for feeling slightly unmotivated and foggy. So here’s the thing first time mommas out there, if you’re tired, you’re not alone!! Growing a human is one of the most beautiful and exhausting things you can do in your life. It’s crazy to think that both are possible at the same time. But hey, I guess all of the changes our bodies are going through are slightly crazy to think about.
To those of you doing this without caffeine I seriously COMMEND you. I don’t know how you’re doing it. {Yes, I am fully aware of the side effects of having caffeine during pregnancy so please, keep your comments to your damn self.} But for real, how do you do it? Some days I wake up feeling totally ready and willing to take on the world then by 11am I am so ready for a nap.
Naps have been essential in my days. Sometimes I don’t need them and that is such a wonderful feeling but 15 minute “cat naps” have been my lifeline. So if you are like me and feel somewhat guilty for taking naps, please don’t. You better enjoy these last months of freedom and sleep while you can. If you’re anything like me, you haven’t been sleeping very well at night so those naps are crucial to being a productive human in society.
If you want to sleep in an hour extra on the weekend, if you want to take a nap during the day, if you need coffee, if you want to sleep in the guest bedroom or couch to actually get yourself comfortable, then momma you do just that! These are the little things you need to enjoy while you can. Not to say that your kid is going to come out and never sleep, but I guess hoping for the worst you will be pleasantly surprised when it’s not that bad, right? That’s my thought process anyway!
See how I was so hesitant about talking about my coffee intake above? Yeah… stay tuned for my post about mom shaming… boy you don’t want to miss this one! #bitchesbecrazy
